Our local area work

Our topic this term has been 'Our Local Area'. We went on a walk around our local area and made notes about the human and physical features that we were able to see. We have have talked in groups and as a whole class about what we like to do in our spare time in our local area, our favourite places of interest and are going to interview important people that work in our local area.
We made models, researched information and drew pictures of special places in our local area and here are some of them for you to see.

Webplay secret meeting

Today our class visited Harrow Arts Centre for a Webplay secret meeting. We met our buddies from our partner school 'Marlborough School' in Harrow. It was a really fantastic day and we got to meet Agent M and Agent W too. We worked on tasks to do with the 3 C's - communicate, concentrate and cooperate.

Paired reading with nursery

Year 3 paired up with children from the nursery to look at, tell and read stories to one another. The children really enjoyed the experience and they all asked when could they do it again!

Making healthy sandwiches

We have been learning all about healthy lifestyles and at the end of our topic we designed and made healthy sandwiches. We thought carefully about what type of bread and fillings we would have and how they would contribute to a varied and balanced diet. After making the sandwiches we evaluated them and said what we liked about them and how we could improve them if we made them again.

It was fun making our sandwiches, some of us had experience of making them at home but for some of us it was our first attempt ever! Here are some photos of what they looked like.
